My guest for today is Willa Edwards. She’s written several books for both Siren, and Cobblestone Press. Read on to find about who Willa would most like to have dinner with, and what she calls her perfect feline friends.
Q. Where did you get the idea for, Foolish Desire?
Foolish Desire is the fourth book in the Naughty Holiday List series. I’ve had a rough idea of all the characters stories since the series began with Naughty List. Even from our first meeting, Amy is the shy friend, and I loved the idea that she would be into something as crazy as exhibitionism. But I had no idea what I was getting myself into with that idea.
Q. Tell us a bit about the hero and heroine in, Foolish Desire.
Amy Spear, the heroine of Foolish Desire, is very shy. She’s artistic and fun, but prefers fading into the background. That’s why she works in the backstage of the theater. That is until Will comes into the picture and he forces her out of the shadows.
Will Long is your classic class clown. He makes cheesy jokes, loves being the center of attention. He’s the local weather man and has never had a problem with anyone laughing at him, until he meets Amy. He thinks she needs someone serious, not a goofball like him. But he’s completely wrong. A little laughing and an April Fool’s joke gone too far is exactly what she needs.
Q. What are you working on right now and what can we expect from you next?
Right now I’m trudging through my edits for my February release, Wandering Off the Path. It’s the first story in my new bound by fairytales series, which are smoking hot retellings of your favorite fairytales, with a little bondage thrown in.
Q. Name three of your favorite things.
Really bad for you food (cheese fries are one of my favorites, but really anything you do with cheese gets me excited), really great books and my fur babies. Notice I say fur babies, they aren’t just cats, they’re people to me.
Q. What has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome in your writing?
I don’t think I’ve suffered any different obstacles than anyone else. Mostly just self-confidence issues and time management. But if you don’t have those, you’re not a writer.
Q. Did you always want to become a writer?
Yup, as long as I can remember. Some of my earliest memories are sitting at my grandmother’s big dining room table, typing my book on her old typewriter. She was my first supporter and first reader.
Q. If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
My grandmother. She’s been gone for almost twenty years now and it would be great to meet up with her again and talk to her about all the grown up things I never got to speak to her about.
Q. Where do you get the inspirations for your books?
I get inspiration from all over the place. The idea of the naughty holiday lists came from an episode of Oprah, when she was talking about the secret. I’ve also received inspiration from other books, television shows and movies. The idea for Wandering Off the Path came from a group writing prompt. I’ve been very lucky, my muse is very giving, on everything but time.
Q. Do you prefer stand-alone books or series (As a reader or a writer) ?
I’m a big series fan, as a reader and a writer. I enjoy seeing the characters that I love again and again, whether they’re important players or merely drifting through the new book.
Q. If you could change places with one character from your book, who would it be and why?
Mallory. She’s my only character so far to end up with two boyfriends, though she won’t be the last. wink They’re rock stars, and I think it would be awesome to spend my days traveling the world while they tour, and spending my nights with Gabe and Lincoln.
Q. Do you listen to music while you are writing, and if so what music is it?
I have to listen to something when I’m writing. I often listen to music (if you go to my website most of my books have soundtracks of the songs that inspired the work). I also been known to have the TV on and even to listen to books on tape while I write. I always need noise, to drown out the real world.
Q. How may readers contact you?
You can find me all over the web. I’m addicted to twitter, especially posting pictures of my two crazy fur babies.

Q. Are there any words of encouragement for unpublished writers?
Never stop trying. Wandering Off the Path, my February release, was rewritten hundreds of times. I submitted it over and over, and I only received rejections. But I just couldn’t let the story die. I love the characters too much. I rewrote it again, resubmit it again, and it was finally picked up by an amazing publisher. I’ve never been so proud of another work.
Just because one person says no, doesn’t mean your work isn’t good. It just means it’s not good for them. Keep trying, keep pushing, keep writing, and eventually you’ll find our place.
Blurb
Amy has never felt special. She’s shy, awkward and clumsy to boot. No one ever noticed her, especially not hunky guys like Will, except for maybe when she was tripping over her own feet. Until an April Fool’s prank goes too far, and for the first time Amy is the center of Will’s interest, and she’s rather liking the arrangement. But does he want all of her, or just the woman who likes getting naughty to an audience.
Will has always been a joke. And he never minded, playing the jester to a tee, until he met Amy. She’s far too sweet, too innocent, too serious, for a guy like him. But when his April Fool’s prank shows him a whole new side of Amy, he can’t pretend look away any longer. But can a fool like Will keep a girl like Amy? Or will he end up being the butt of his own joke?

Adult Excerpt:
“Open your eyes, sweetie. Look at all the other people here.”
Amy’s eyes flew wide. In the sweet bliss of Will’s fingers fucking her, she’d almost forgotten where they were. In a restaurant full of people. People who’d know all too well what Will did to her beneath the table if she did not maintain control.
No one sat too close to them, offering them some privacy in the dining room. But across the room an older couple, around the same age of her grandparents, sat enjoying a meal. The older man slurped down soup, while the woman next to him rattled off a story. In the other corner of the room a family twirled their spaghetti and laughed.
Amy opened her mouth to tell Will to stop, to convince him they needed to be more appropriate in public, but the words caught in her throat as he rubbed her clit in a tight circle, his finger still stuffed deep inside her. She couldn’t breathe. The pleasure vibrated through her, starting in her clit and twirling outward, tightening her nipples. Goose bumps broke out across her chest and the back of her neck.
She watched the others in the restaurant, oblivious of the naughty movements of Will’s fingers beneath the table, and her temperature skyrocketed. Her pussy clutched on his fingers, the moisture between her legs multiplying. A smirk expanded across Will’s face, making her want to punch him and kiss him at the same time.
He swirled his fingers inside her, and the idea of doing either vanished. Her entire being focused on just breathing.
“Will, please…” Her hand grabbed at his shirt, desperate and needy as she’d never been before.
He dipped his head, pressing his lips to her throat, sucking on the skin before whispering in her ear. “Please what? Stop or keep going?”
She moaned. Her other hand reached down to grasp the side of the chair, tightening around the stained wood as she fought the urge to moan and scream and quiver into a pile of custard at his feet.
“I know what your body wants.” His fingers continued their maddening pace between her legs, fucking her deep and hard. He nipped her ear, sucking in the fleshy lobe. “But what do you want, Amy? Tell me. I’ll do anything for you. I’ll get under this table and lick you till you’re bellowing. I’ll lean down and suck those nice tits right into my mouth. I don’t care who sees.”
Amy moaned. Her head fell back against the chair. She looked up at him, his eyes fixed on her, nailing her to the seat just as effectively as his fingers pounded between her legs. She had no idea what she wanted. No one
had ever asked her before, not about sex, at least. What she wanted in her sandwich or what career path she wanted to pursue, but never what she wanted between the sheets, or at the dinner table, as happened to be the case.
She opened her mouth, not sure what would come out when she did. Her eyes slid open, seeing the waitress walking towards them from the direction behind Will’s shoulder. Amy let out a relieved breath as the woman dressed in all black approached their table. She needed a minute to think about what Will did to her and exactly how much more she wanted to allow him before she pulled away.
“Will, the waitress.” She used the nod of her chin to motion behind him, to where the waitress strolled, head down, pulling an order pad out of her apron pocket.
He spun around, glancing over his shoulder to the brunette waitress. He turned back to her with an evil smile that had her stomach twisting. “Good, I was getting hungry.” His fingers twirled inside her, his thumb strumming her clit.
Thanks so much for being my guest today, Willa. I’ve enjoyed finding out about your books, and you’ve inspired us all with your encouragement to other writers.

Hi, Willa
Welcome.
Your Grandmother sounds like a wonderful woman.
Jan x
She definitely was. But my whole family is pretty supportive, even though they don't understand it. Everyone in my family is either in medicine or engineering, so I'm definitely the odd one in the bunch.
Thank you so much for having me here Jan. Its been so much fun.
I read the dinner with your grandmother wish and smiled. I've wished that too, though I don't think I'd mention the genre I write in.
🙂 Nice post Willa.

In real life I am so not into exhibitionism, but I do enjoy living vicariously through books.
I, too, would chose my maternal grandmother to speak with. She died shortly before my 10th birthday.
You must have had a wonderful relationship with your grandmother.
Love the excerpt. BTW, Will Long (is that a pun?) sounds like the youngest in the family. Many weather men are the youngest and love attention.
Janice~
Rose, I think if I could have dinner with my grandmother, I think I'd tell her everything. After all, I'm having dinner with someone whose been gone for almost twenty years, I don't think she sweat the small stuff (or in the case of my books, the long and thick stuff).
Ann, I completely agree. Reading exhibitionism is very hot but not at all interested in participating in real life.
Janice, though I never expressly say it in the story, I always thought Will was an only child, which can have an attention seeking streak.
The last name of Long I came up with as my hypothetical fifth player in Midsummer Night's Dream, to play with Bottom, Flute, Snout and Starveling (I wanted to name him after one of them, the ultimate entertainers, but just couldn't bring myself to use one of those names, so I made up one that fit in with the group).
Thank you all so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it. Along with all your kind words about my Grandmother. I think she'd be very proud of all I've done.
Thanks for a great blog, Willa.
Congratulations on all your achievements.
